Range Rules For Matches
This is a cold range!
Load only when instructed to do so at the firing line by an RO.
When firing is in progress, eye and ear protection must be worn at all times.
Any round over the berm or any round fired into the ground, closer than 3 meters, is a match disqualification!
Failure to obey an RO command is cause for a match DQ.
The 180-degree rule is always in effect when on the firing line!
All firearms will be carried holstered or cased with magazines removed, as applicable. Long guns may be staged in racks, with actions open and an open bolt indicator installed, if racks are provided.
No magnum pistol cartridges or rifle cartridges with metal inserts may be used on steel targets. These will damage the targets.
DO NOT LEAVE THE FIRING LINE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WITH A LOADED FIREARM!
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the range.
Pets are not permitted on the range.
RULES FOR FIREARMS CONTROL

Treat all firearms as if loaded!

Never point a firearm at anything you do not want to destroy!

Always be sure of your target and what is beyond!

Keep your finger off of the trigger until your sights are on the target!
DROPPED FIREARM
If the dropped firearm is unloaded there is no violation.
The competitor does not retrieve the firearm.
A Range Officer must retrieve it, check to see if it is loaded, and return it to the competitor.
If it is during a stage and the dropped firearm is loaded: It will be unloaded by the RO and returned to the competitor.
Dropping a loaded firearm is an automatic DQ.
Dropping an unloaded firearm while under the control of the RO is an automatic DQ.
PLEASE NOTE: IT IS THE COMPETITORS RESPONSIBILITY TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THESE RANGE RULES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL BE CONSIDERED A BREACH OF STATED COMMITTMENT TO THE ENDEAVORS OF SAFETY AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP PUT FORTH BY THE YRL.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AT ANY TIME ABOUT THE ABOVE RULES, THEY SHOULD BE DIRECTED IN WRITING TO THE SECRETARY WHO WILL SUBMIT THEM TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR CONSIDERATION.
YOUR PRESENCE ON THE RANGE INDICATES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF ALL PERSONAL AND PROPERTY LIABILITY.
IF SOMETHING NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION IT SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE RANGE MASTER OR MATCH DIRECTOR, AT THE TIME, FOR CONSIDERATION.
